Reflecting on a recent workshop I ran for the teachers of Studio凛 in Kunitachi, Tokyo. With such special support from superstars Tomoe Watanabe and Yuta L-k Mist!! I'm so happy I can share what I love here in Japan. Inspired by my Zenthai Shiatsu studies with Gwyn Williams, our workshop was a playful mix of partner, group and acrobatic yoga. With a focus on the shoulders and upper back/chest area, we worked with the energy channels of the heart and lungs.. These organs connect us to our sense of spirit and the inhale and exhale of life..
Summer time is coming here in Japan.. the time to open and share our joyful spirit! Like the beautiful roses opening at our temporary home here in Saitama, Japan. When we can connect with our own inner beauty and spirit, we are able to see that beauty in the world outside of us. What a valuable gift we can give from the heart.. to REALLY see each other.
A dear thank you to Miho Yazawa (family of Studio凛), who made this all happen whilst she was in Australia! Miho-san's generosity of heart has deeply inspired me. The macrobiotic lunch you organised for us after the workshop was soooo oiishi!!
For those who are visiting Japan and looking where to get involved in Yoga classes and events, I recommend joining MeetUp.com
It can sometimes feel daunting, limiting and isolating when you can't read or speak the language! But fear not! Through meetup.com I found many foreigner friendly and affordable offerings with a wonderful and friendly community feel!
